She completed her undergraduate training at Colorado College and subsequently her advanced training in clinical psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Hancock is a licensed clinical psychologist in both Arizona and Colorado. She uses evidenced-based modalities for treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure.ĭr. Cathleen is qualified to treat depression, anxiety, sleep dysfunction, life stressors in general, grief and loss and trauma. On return to North America, and settling in the Phoenix area, Cathleen took a position at Luke AFB and resumed serving active duty and reserve / guard members. While living in Abu Dhabi, UAE (2012-2016) she worked with service personnel at Al Dhafra Airbase and the US Embassy. Since 2008, Cathleen has served active duty members of all branches of the US military and some foreign services at Peterson AFB, CO. Cathleen’s total healthcare experience spans more than 30 years in a variety of settings to include: in-patient psychiatric care, high-risk pregnancies, newborn intensive care, mother-baby, medicine-surgery, senior care and hospice care. ![]() Additionally, Cathleen is a Licensed Practical Nurse in Colorado and the affiliated compact agreement states (AZ, NM, UT and NV). She received advanced practice and licensure status in 1999. She oversees the clinical team and provides clinical supervision to team members in the process of becoming independently licensed.Ĭathleen earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work summa cum laude from the University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo, CO in 1995, then attended the University of Denver to complete a Master’s degree in Social Work with a Healthcare concentration in 1997. Her treatment approach is based on meeting the client where they are at and typically includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based interventions to reduce a client’s current level of discomfort and increase positivity in his/her life. She has experience running educational and process group s and treats addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, family conflict and other presenting issues. Kool started her career working with children and families and received training in neuropsychological assessments. She worked as a clinical director for a year-long substance abuse treatment center from 2006-2012 and was the Chief Program Officer at a substance abuse treatment center that offered residential, partial-hospitalization and intensive out-patient care from 2012 to 2016. She has been practicing in the field of psychology since 2005 and specialized in the area of addictions from 2006 to 2016. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.
